Grand Central Restaurant Opening Delayed

KANSAS CITY-Construction delays will push back the opening of Grand Central Oyster Bar & Restaurant until late fall. More than $1 million in additional financing was needed and finding marble and terra cotta proved difficult.

KANSAS CITY-Construction setbacks will mean a delayed opening of the much anticipated Grand Central Oyster Bar & Restaurant, to be housed in the same Freight House District building at Lidia’s Kansas City and Fiorella’s Jack Stack Barbecue. The new restaurant, at 20th Street and Baltimore Avenue, is now slated to open in November.

Among the delays were the need for more than $1 million in additional financing and difficulties in finding the marble and terra cotta for the interior design.
