New Toll Road Gets Green Light

SAN DIEGO-State Route 125, a key commercial corridor for San Diego's South County, gets green light from a key government agency.

SAN DIEGO-The effort to build a new freeway in San Diego County, the proposed State Route 125 tollway, received a green light Monday from a key government agency.

The Regional Water Quality Control Board gave its approval for an extension of State Route 125 to tie into the rapidly growing Otay Mesa area. Commercial and residential developers want to extend the current freeway from State Route 54 to State Route 905 at the Otay Mesa border crossing, providing a full freeway link from Otay Mesa to Santee.
