Waste Management, a Scottsdale-based waste hauling firm with operation in dozens of cities around the country, subleased 51,300 sf of industrial space at 2604 S. 38th St., signing a 6.5-year lease. Waste Management subleased the space from Emser Tile. Approximately 20% of space on the site is for office use. The property is just south of the Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport and the Salt River.
Waste Management will use the space as an operations center for its Valleywide trash pickup.
Based on prevailing rates for industrial space in the area, the lease consideration is approximately $1.5 million to $1.9 million.
The Phoenix office of Insignia/ESG, with broker Ken McQueen, represented Waste Management in the lease negotiations.
