The project has received planning commission approval and now it awaits council hearings and final approval. The item was scheduled to appear on the April 19 agenda but has been canceled according to deputy city clerk, Arlene Salvador.

The developers want to complete all necessary council related hearings by the end of May in an effort to open the mall as early as autumn 2003. The duo already has received commitments from three major department stores -- Gottchalks, Dillard's and Macy's.
