GE Capital sources were not immediately available for comment on the sale of the building, located in the Freeman Industrial Park. It was built in 1981. G.E. Capital paid J.C. Penney $2.2 million for the building in December of 1999, according to Oregon Title Insurance Co.

A wholly-owned subsidiary of General Electric Company, GE Capital, based in Stamford, CT, provides equipment management, mid-market and specialized financing, specialty insurance and a variety of consumer services, such as car leasing, home mortgages and credit cards to businesses and individuals.
