Boston-based Kinkisharyo USA, the U. S. arm of a major Japanese manufacturer leased 100,000 sf to use for the assembly of light-rail cars for the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority, according to Roger Tarleton, agent for CB Richard Ellis. Richmond-based manufacturer of chainsaw maintenance tools, Granberg International leased 12,000 sf and Expertees, a Corvallis, Oregon producer of promotional t-shirts will move into 7,500 sf. The terms of each lease run for about three years and rents were priced to increase to market level by 2004.

The former Navy base is leased by the City of Vallejo. Once the title to turned over to the city, the property will be transferred to a joint venture formed by Miami, FL-based Lennar Corp. and Foster City, CA-based Legacy Partners Commercial for implementation of a 10-year redevelopment plan.
