DENVER-Last month, GlobeSt.com had reported that shock-rocker Alice Cooper would open his second Alice Cooper’stown restaurant in Denver. Now, officials have confirmed it.
At the end of May, the rock legend and Bill Weymouth will open the restaurant where “jocks meet rock,” in the former Dick’s Last Resort Restaurant at 19th and Blake streets in Lower Downtown, just down the street from Coors Field. Dick’s Last Resort, where the waiters and waitresses make fun of guests, closed its doors last month after almost years. Cooper’stown combines two of Cooper’s passions: baseball and rock.
Cooper, Weymouth and other partners are investing $1.5 million in the new restaurant. The former warehouse building will be renovated to include a first-floor dining area, with a concert hall and dance floor on the second level. A VIP room will be added to the third-floor mezzanine. The restaurant will feature 35 to 50 national shows a year.
