AMF Bowling Inc. May File Chapter 11

KANSAS CITY-One bowling center closes in the Northland, but a Leawood location will remain open. Ten local AMF bowling alleys remain open in the metropolitan area, but their fates will be evaluated as leases expire.

KANSAS CITY-Reports from the AMF Bowling Inc. company headquarters in Mechanicsville, VA last week indicate the company may be on the verge of filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. A company spokesperson said area locations would be evaluated as leases come up for renewal.

The AMF Antioch Lanes north of the river closed recently. However, the AMF Ranchmart Lanes, which was scheduled to close at the end of this month, will remain open after the landlord renewed the lease. Ten local AMF bowling alleys remain open in the metropolitan area.
