Medical Offices Coming to South Lake Union

SEATTLE-Harbor Properties has applied for permits to develop a 100,000-sf medical office building at 307 Westlake Avenue North. The property is owned by billionaire Paul Allen's Vulcan Northwest.

SEATTLE-Harbor Properties is expanding its focus from mostly downtown apartments and Northwest ski resorts. The locally based company is planning a five-story medical building on a Westlake Avenue property owned by Paul Allen’s Vulcan Northwest.

The property, in the South Lake Union district where Allen has been collecting parcels for years, is about a mile removed from this city’s famous “Pill Hill,” home to most of the region’s major hospitals. Harbor Properties will meet with the city’s Design Review Board as early next week to discuss the early stages of the project.

According to the city’s Department of Design, Construction and Land Use, Harbor applied for a 100,000 square-foot building at 307 Westlake Avenue North, the main thoroughfare linking downtown to Lake Union, an in-city fresh water lake lined with houseboats, restaurants and boat builders.
