SAN DIEGO-One of the city’s largest public companies plans to move this fall from the University Towne Center area to an industrial park in Poway.

The Parkway Business Centre will be the new home of computer maker Gateway Inc., which has been looking for new headquarters since the beginning of the year. The company declined to release the financial terms of a long-term lease it signed at the Poway site.

In making the move, the company cut its space requirement by more than 42,000 sf, from its existing three-building, 182,120-sf site to about 140,000 sf. The company also plans to transfer employees from Orange County to the Poway site.
