The sale, put together by Transwestern Commercial Services' multifamily family services group, involved numerous sellers because each homeowner had to approve the sale of their residence. The Dulles Corridor development was valued at approximately $15 million, according to Transwestern.

Great Oaks will feature 82 single-family homes, 115 townhouses and 248 luxury apartments with garages, according to Transwestern.

"With 14 years in the making, it goes without saying that this transaction is the longest deal that I've worked on throughout my career," says Bob Verchek, senior vice president with Transwestern's multifamily group.
