Postal Service Drops Plans for Troy Site

TROY, MI-The agency eliminates plans to build a 358,000-sf warehouse/distribution and/or processing facility on a 34.7-acre site with Liberty Property Trust. The Postal Service is canceling construction plans throughout the US.

TROY, MI-Kevin Shea of Liberty Property Trust tells the Troy city council the US Postal Service has canceled lease plans for buildings in the planned Big Beaver Technology Park. Shea says several projects nationwide for the post office have beenterminated or delayed.

The Troy planning commission approved a preliminary site plan for a 358,000-sf warehouse/distribution and/or processing facility on a 34.7-acre site, providing the eventual user of the site uses back roads for truck traffic. Principal Planner Mark Miller had said the potential tenant of the building is the US Postal Service.
