Metropolitan Furniture Leases Space at Edgewater Industrial Center

OAKLAND, CA-Colliers International has brokered a 10-year, 214,200-sf lease at Edgewater Industrial Center to Metropolitan Furniture Corp. The lease represents a move of the furniture company’s regional headquarters from Burlingame.

AMB Property Corp. purchased Edgewater for investment and redevelopment roughly a year ago. The property, located at 7200 Edgewater Dr., is directly across Interstate 880 from the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum.

According to John Rossi, senior vice president of operations at AMB, the property required only nominal tenant improvements. He adds that, although there may be a slowing economy, Metro proves that there are still a number of companies that are expanding operations.
