The Village Entertainment Park is situated in Rendis, 4 km South-East of Athens City Centre. The 221,740 sq ft, open-air centre trades on three levels and attracted three million visitors in 2000. It is anchored by Greece's largest cinema - a 20 screen Village Cinemas multiplex providing 4,516 seats.
The centre's 49,514 sq ft shopping mall includes units for Mango, Benetton, Levis, Virgin Megastore, Nike, Timberland and Swatch, and the 51,130 sq ft of catering and leisure space include branches of KFC, Pizza Hut and Planet Hollywood.
DTZ EuroInvest and DTZ Mihalos acted for the vendor and FPDSavills advised the Pradera European Retail Fund.
Peter Collins, head of DTZ EuroInvest said: "Since the drachma joined the Euro there has been a significant increase in the number of foreign investors looking at the Greek market. This transaction is clear evidence of that trend and sets the precedent for further investment activity in Greece."
