Colorado Mills Mall Could Have Office, Condos

LAKEWOOD, CO-The 1.2 million-sf, $250-million mall under construction on a 130-acre site could eventually include 200 retail spaces, 500,000 sf of office space as well as multifamily units.

LAKEWOOD, CO-Colorado Mills, the 1.2 million-sf, $250-million mall under construction in this city west of Denver, eventually could feature more than 200 or so stores. Five or six years down the road, it could include about 500,000 sf of office space and high-priced condos or apartments, says Greg Stevinson, whose family owned the 130-acre site where the mall is under construction.

Stevinson now is a 25% partner in the project with the Mills Corp. of Arlington, VA.

”The housing or the office would not be built above the Mills shopping center itself,” Stevinson tells GlobeSt.com. ”That would remain as a single story. What we’re looking at is housing or offices above what is called E-Street, to the outdoor entertainment area. That could end up being three, four or five stories.”
