Daisytek Gets IRS Nod for 400,000-SF Buy

ALLEN, TX-Daisytek has cleared the decks to buy a 400,000-sf distribution center from its spin-off company. The Memphis center reportedly will fetch more than $10 million and puts the Allen-based distributor one step closer to regaining control of the site.

ALLEN, TX-Daisytek International Corp. has been cleared by the IRS to buy a 400,000-sf Memphis distribution center owned by PFSweb Inc. Reports put the purchase price for in excess of $10 million, though the terms have not been finalized.

Daisytek, based in Allen, TX, is a wholesale distributor of computer and office supplies and provider of marketing and demand generation services. “With the IRS ruling, we are one step closer to regaining control of the Memphis Superhub, which has been the cornerstone of our logistics network for a number of years. This transaction enables us to be one of the most efficient and customer-responsive providers in our industry,” says Jim Powell, Daisytek’s president and CEO. A May closing is anticipated.
