Baird, Kurtz & Dobson, a Kansas City-based accounting firm, is taking the space of McCann-Erickson, an advertising and public relations firm. In turn, McCann-Erickson WorldGroup has signed a bridge lease for 2,847 sf, also sublease space, until its 20th floor office is ready to occupy in August. The temporary space had been occupied by Vining-Sparks IBG LP.
McCann-Erickson, an affiliate of New York City-based Interpublic Group of Cos. Inc., has been a tenant in the building since 1987 and had been three years into a 10-year renewal when the cutback had come down the pike, Roy DiPasquale, Cushman & Wakefield of Texas Inc., broker tells GlobeSt.com. DiPasquale and associate, H. Lee Goodwin, have handled the space swaps.
In August, the dust gets to settle on the shuffle as the ad agency moves into 6,845 sf on the 20th floor. DiPasquale says the staff has been cut by nearly two-thirds from its original size. McCann-Erickson has signed a seven-year lease for the 20th floor office with building owner Lehndorff Four Oaks Place JV. The 25-story BHP Tower is one of four office towers in the 1.75-million sf Four Oaks complex.
In another deal, DiPasquale and Goodwin has found 19,658 sf of class-A office space for another advertising and public relations firm. New York City-based BBDO World Wide Inc. will be moving into 1800 W. Loop South, a Crescent Real Estate Equities property.
