SAN FRANCISCO-Golden Gate Performing Arts Inc. is taking up residence at 4051 18th St. after failing to reach a lease agreement on its former digs at the corner of 17th and Market streets. The organization had a special deal arranged by the city to sublease space for $1 a year, but it fell through after a failure to reach a renewal agreement.

Golden Gate Performing Arts, which runs the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus, signed a two-year lease for about 1,000 sf at the 18th Street address after the 4,300 sf it had been subleasing from Bank of America became unavailable. Bank of America had been using only a small portion of the 17th and Market streets location to hold some of its ATM machines. The bank terminated its lease after failing to reach a renewal agreement with the Lurie Co., the building’s owner.
