CARMEL, NY-The developers of the Hughson Commons senior housing project here have scheduled a May 17 groundbreaking ceremony for the $11.7 million project. Wilder Balter Partners Inc. an Elmsford-based residential builder, and the not-for-profit Housing Action Council of Tarrytown, will develop the Hughson Commons senior housing community.

Scheduled to attend the May 17 session are: Carmel Town Supervisor Frank J. Del Campo, Commissioner Joseph P. Lynch of the New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal and Donald J. Wolff, senior vice president of the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York. The event is slated to begin at 11 a.m.

Hughson Commons will feature 94 affordable senior apartments in one, two-story and two, two-and-a-half story buildings. The community will include 78 one-bedroom apartments, and 16 two-bedroom residences.
