Hot Twins Revive Stadium Bill in Legislature

ST. PAUL, MN-A bill would have the state lend the Minnesota Twins $100 million to help build a $300-million, open-air ballpark. It was considered dead before the team started the season 21-8.

ST. PAUL, MN-Major League Baseball’s lowest-paid team is also oneof the hottest, and that apparently has inspired lawmakers in Minnesota to reconsider a bill to help finance a new $300-million, open-air, 42,000-seat ballpark for the Minnesota Twins. A new version of a bill that was considered dead less than a month ago in the session could be heard in the important tax committee of the House of Representatives by the end of the week.

The bill would have the state of Minnesota lend $100 million to help pay for the newbaseball stadium. The Minnesota Twins is leading its division with a 21-8 record.
