The office, its fifth office statewide, will be used to serve the area's thriving technology, biomedical, broadband communications, wireless telecommunications and e-commerce businesses. The firm's existing office is located in downtown San Diego. The new office will open in late July or early August.

Sheppard Mullin's attorneys already work with a number of North County new-economy companies, helping with business formation, venture capital, labor and benefits, securities, intellectual property and real estate issues. "The vast majority of the business growth in San Diego is occurring in North San Diego County," says Richard Brunette, chairman of Sheppard Mullin's executive committee. "We want to be responsive to our clients' needs and be an integral part of the growth of the North County business community."
