IDRC is the world's leading professional association for managers of corporate real estate, facilities, information technology, human resources, finance and other support units that define corporate infrastructure.
The IDRC Pacific Northwest World Congress will focus on how corporate real estate leaders will leverage connected technologies in the new economy to create business platforms that enable corporate speed, flexibility, innovation and market penetration.
Conference sessions, which run May 12-16, will be held at a variety of meeting buildings in the Seattle Center. The tech focus seems to be what the membership wants - three out of four Florida 2000 World Congress attendees indicated that they would like to see a Tech Fair at every World Congress.
"IDRC provides us unique value,'' said Chuck Woznick, president and chief executive officer of Camarillo, Calif.-based Facility Information Systems (FIS). "IDRC events focus on exploring and solving problems . . . meaningful discussions on solving complex problems in managing corporate real estate."
FIS, an information systems company providing enterprise software and implementation services to large organizations for facility management, corporate real estate and corporate infrastructure resource management, will be one of the many companies making presentations at the conference.
FIS, a venture-funded start-up founded in 1993, will offer "Using Application Service Providers and Web Portals to Manage Corporate Real Estate," as part of Tuesday morning session.
According to Woznick and co-presenter Ray Summerell, FIS VP-corporate development, the technology community is touting Application Service Providers (ASPs) and Web Portals as valuable solutions for corporate real estate management, as gateways to customers, commercial exchanges and as the underpinnings for e-business solutions in many varieties. Their presentation will explain the business consequences of using ASPs and Portals - both pro and con - in basic language.
Both men said they have molded their presentation around what they have seen and experienced at previous IDRC events. "IDRC Tech Fairs are quality events that deliver an environment of relaxed collaboration, where discourse occurs on implementing technology that delivers results to the bottom line," Summerell said.
