Supervisor Wants Break for High-Tech Firm

WATERFORD TOWNSHIP, MI-A $3-million facility built for Grunewald New Technologies Inc. of Germany would bring youth programs and higher tax revenue while not taxing township resources, Supervisor Carl. Solden tells GlobeSt.com.

WATERFORD TOWNSHIP, MI-Grunewald New Technologies Inc. of Germany is asking the Waterford Township board of trustees to consider participating in a large tax break plan to build a facility in their neighborhood. The township, situated along M-59 near Pontiac, does not normally hand out tax breaks or abatements to businesses.

“It hasn’t been many times, maybe two or three, and not in recent years,” says Township Supervisor Carl Solden.

However, Solden tells GlobeSt.com he thinks the company, which produces plastic molds for engines and other automotive parts, would be a welcome benefit to the community.
