GlobeSt.com EXCLUSIVE: Local NYSCAR Chapter in Planning Stages

NEW YORK CITY-Yesterday (May 10th) several commercial brokerage firms met to elect officers for what could be the first local chapter of the New York State Commercial Association of Realtors, the commercial wing of NAR.

NEW YORK CITY-The thrust for local real estate firms to move to gain a more global presence was seen again yesterday morning (May 10th). Several commercial brokerage firms came together to take steps to form the first local chapter of the New York State Commercial Association of Realtors, the commercial arm of the National Association of Realtors. NAR is the largest professional real estate organization in the world with 1.4 million members globally.

“New York City has never had an established NYSCAR chapter, something we want to change because we really see this area as the hub of the state,” Lewis B. Kaye, CEO of LBKaye International Realty Commercial Services and elected president of the new group, tells GlobeSt.com. Kaye is actually already on NYSCAR’s board of governors through an established chapter and was the individual that initiated the petition to form this new group.

The fate of group hinges on NAR’s approval of the petition. NAR is scheduled to hear the request of this newly formed group on June 24th. A vote on if the new chapter will be formed is expected to come from NAR after arguments are heard.
