Grain Belt Brewery Sold, $19-Mil Rehab Ahead

MINNEAPOLIS-RSP Architects Ltd. will be the single tenant of the historic Brewhouse at 1220 Marshall Street N.E., part of a 100,000-sf facility in the Sheridan neighborhood that it will redesign.

MINNEAPOLIS-Ryan Cos. says it has bought the historic Grain Belt Brewery located in the Sheridan neighborhood from the Minneapolis Community Development Agency. The parcels of land involved include the 100,000-sf brewhouse and the boiler building, each of which are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

RSP Architects Ltd. will be the single tenant of the brewhouse at 1220 Marshall Street N.E., and is also the architect on the project.

Prior to closing, de-construction was pursued to address environmental issues and equipment and demolition removal related to the site’s previous use as a brewery, according to Ryan officials.
