Hotel Project On Track for Fall Opening

SAN DIEGO-A development company co-owned by San Diego Padres owner John Moores has reached the halfway mark on Del Mar Marriott, a new 12-story, 284-room hotel in the San Diego Corporate Center.

SAN DIEGO-Construction has just passed the halfway mark on the new Del Mar Marriott, a 12-story, 284-room hotel in the San Diego Corporate Center in Del Mar Heights/Carmel Valley.

The hotel, which is under development by JMI Realty and scheduled to open in late fall, is valued at about $50 million. It is being built at the corner of El Camino Real and Valley Center Drive, north of the Carmel Valley Road exit off of Interstate 5.

“The Del Mar Marriott will be Marriott’s only full-service lodging facility located between north San Diego and Orange County,” said Greg Clay, JMIR’s director of hospitality development. Del Mar Marriott amenities include a restaurant and 12,078 sf of meeting space including a 7,290-sf grand ballroom and smaller 2,565-sf ballroom.
