Benteler to Relocate HQ to Auburn Hills

AUBURN HILLS, MI-Component manufacturer Benteler Automotive is the latest firm to gravitate to a supplier home base in Oakland County, where it will eventually relocate operations now in Grand Rapids and Livonia.

AUBURN HILLS, MI-Benteler Automotive of Livonia says it plans to move the company’s North American headquarters and advanced engineering and technicalcenter to a new facility here. Auburn Hills is fast becoming the capital of automotive suppliers, with North American headquarters for Daimler-Chrysler also in the industrial-heavy city in north Oakland County.

The move is expected to be completed by October, and will consolidate a major portion of Benteler’s non-manufacturing personnel.

“We wanted to get the business closer to the customer base,” says Chris Dehart, director of marketing for the company. “We’re also trying to get all of our technical, program management, sales and marketing in one location.”
