The joint venture between serviced office group Gainsborough and Morrison Developments has taken four floors in the 80,000 sq ft building on a 16-year lease at £20 ($28.40) per sq ft . Construction is due to begin by late June 2001 with completion scheduled for the end of 2002.

Miller Gregory Development manager Richard Tovey said the letting justified the company's confidence in the site. 'Planning permission was originally granted for a 60,000 sq ft six-storey building but the shortage of quality accommodation in Leeds convinced us to resubmit for a larger building,' he said.

Gainsborough Morrison is expanding rapidly to achieve its target of 25 UK centres by 2005. It has recently signed leases in Bracknell and Slough, Berkshire, Watford, Hertfordshire and Leith, Edinburgh.
