The California-based high tech company will be consolidating its Maynard and Cambridge offices here. According to Spaulding & Slye Colliers' principal Tamie R. Thompson, who represented the landlord in this lease, the lease rate will be in the mid to high $40's per sf over the next ten years.
"It may be a little high," Thompson tells GlobeSt.com, "but it is a good deal for both parties. The space won't be available till next August and who knows what will be then?" Thompson points out that big blocks of space are hard to come by in the suburban market here and the highway visibility and easy access of this building make it mare valuable.
In an interesting twist, Spaulding & Slye had intended to lease 65,000 sf in this building. Thompson that this deal with BEA means the real estate services company will put off consolidating some of its offices for a while. "We're going through an assessment now," she says.
