The tenant rep group represents clients in large, complex transaction assignments that typically involve relocations of headquarters facilities or major office consolidations. "We will continue to focus our efforts and expand our relationships with Bay Area companies that are looking for portfolio solutions which are innovative and cost-effective," says Sengelmann, who was an office-focused senior vice president with Colliers International prior to joining Jones Lang LaSalle in 1998.

The company also recently hired Bruce Ganong as vice president of Capital Markets. Formerly with GE Capital Real Estate, Ganong's primary responsibility will be developing business for Jones Lang LaSalle's debt capital markets for the western half of the U.S., as well as executing financing assignments.

Ganong will be working primarily with senior vice president Michel Seifer, who, along with Marty Smith, heads up Capital Markets for San Francisco. His appointment coincides with the national expansion of Jones Lang LaSalle Capital Markets team, which is being done in an effort to better align resources with current and future market opportunities.

"We see a tremendous opportunity in the San Francisco market and felt we were well positioned to go after it," Seifer tells Globest.com "Now we are working to bring in the staff resources. Bruce is the first and there will be others to follow who will help us to bolster our staff so we can continue to focus on building a presence in the key market areas which include San Francisco, Boston, New York, Chicago and Los Angeles."

Over the past two years the Bay Area capital markets division has completed a number of significant West Coast transactions totaling in excess of $1 billion, including the sale of Citicorp Center, Saks-Union Square, One Stockton and the Monadnock Building. On the debt side, deals have included the financing of City Center Retail Shopping Center; arranging a $125 million loan secured by the world headquarters of a leading telecommunications company; and a $487 million, 18-loan portfolio sale assignment for Teachers Insurance.
