NEBS Reduces Workforce and Closes Facility

GROTON, MA-New England Business Services Inc. closes down a facility in Sudbury and lays off 3% of its workforce. In light of economic pressures, the direct marketing company is attempting to reduce operating costs.

GROTON,MA-In an effort to reduce operating costs, New England Business Services Inc. will restructure certain of its operations. The business-to-business direct marketing company will lay off 3% of its workforce and consolidate some of its facilities.

According to Tim Althof, vice president of investor relations for the company, 125 out of the 4,000 employees worldwide will be laid off. Fifty of those cuts will be in this state with some coming from each of the company’s facilities here–n Townsend, Sudbury and the headquarters in Groton. In addition a distribution center in Sudbury will be closed down.
