ROUND ROCK, TX-American Plumbing & Mechanical Inc. is opening three locations and expanding two for its 2001 growth plan.

The commercial pluming and HVAC contractor is coming out of the gate on the heels of a first-quarter accounting that has revenues up 15% from first quarter 2000. The company has posted $143.4 million of revenues in Q1 in comparison to $125.1 million for last year's first quarter.

AMPAM chairman and CEO Robert Christianson says the current $216 million backlog is a record high. Its single-family residential plumbing starts in Q1 also are a record, coming in at 10,000 units. The commercial entity is estimating 2001 revenues will hit about $610 million, with EBITDA remaining fairly flat at $58 million.
