Under the master plan drawn up by architects, EDAW commercial development will be concentrated in the north of the zone, around the South Quay bomb site. Among the projects approved were Ballymore's plans for No 1 Millharbour and Arrowhead Quay and a new World Trade Centre for London.
Architecturally, the most dramatic proposal is Quadratic, a 13 storey signature office building designed by the award-winning architect Patrick Davies. The development will provide 278,000 sf with clear floorplates of around 25,145 sf each. Davies' innovative 'H' shaped design is supported at each of its four corners rather than the traditional central core. It includes an 11-storey double atrium on its east and west sides and a two storey winter garden on its north and south sides.CB Hillier Parker and Chesterton are seeking a pre-let for the scheme.
