Evergreen develops, markets and manufactures solar power products for the worldwide market. Over the past three years, the company operated a pilot production line in Waltham, MA. Recently, demand for its products has increased spurred by the energy crisis in California. In addition, Evergreen's products are in use in the World Trade Center in Tokyo, which recently installed 85kW of Evergreen's product.
Evergreen Solar's solar power products turn sunlight into electricity using a patented technology that utilizes silicon. The company did not return calls by presstime, but in a released statement Dr. Rex D'Agostino, Evergreen Solar's vice president of marketing and sales states that residential and commercial demand for solar power is very strong, both domestically and internationally. "Our challenge is to ramp up capacity to meet this demand," he adds.
