$28-Mil Sports Resort Coming to Carmel Valley

SAN DIEGO-The 87,000-sf facility, by a major developer and operator of athletic clubs on the West Coast, will include all manner of sport courts as well a fitness center, a full-service day spa, a sports medicine clinic, pro shop, and cafi.

SAN DIEGO-A major developer and operator of athletic clubs on the West Coast is making its first club in Southern California a memorable one. Western Athletic Clubs Inc. has broken ground for a $28 million, 87,000-sf “sports resort” on 10 acres in the North County suburb of Carmel Valley.

Pacific Athletic Club will feature swimming pools, tennis courts, special purpose exercise studios, squash courts, a regulation basketball gymnasium, and an 11,000-sf fitness center. Other frills include a full-service day spa, a sports medicine clinic, pro shop, and café.
