Morfit ExpoMaker, a 3D-tradeshow applications firm, is settling into 2,200 sf in the bank building, located at 9660 Hillcroft in the city's Braeswood neighborhood. Fritz Boudreaux, the firm's director of business development, tells GlobeSt.com this is just the first North American office that Morfit intends to open in the US.
Morfit CEO Amos Simantov says discussions are under way with several US tradeshow organizers. "Our office in Houston will provide us with a platform from which to expand our American markets," he emphasizes.
The Houston office will serve as main hub for Morfit's Central and South American operations. The company also has dealings in Mexico, a site for numerous technical trade shows each year. Houston's easy access to the Americas, says Boudreaux, had been a primary factor in choosing the city for the US rollout. More offices will come as the market dictates, he says. For now, Morfit's US strategy is in the hands of an eight-member Houston staff, which will focus on business development, technical support and product design.
The Morfit ExpoMaker is a tool used by tradeshow organizers to provide 3D replication of exhibition centers. The tool can show inside and outside tradeshow areas as well as specific booths. One of its main functions is to plan and sell booths as well as market the show. These replications can be integrated with online registration systems. Boudreaux says the product is primarily popular with high-tech conferences and trade shows, such as Comdex.
