LONDON-Lord Rogers, the Mayor’s adviser on architecture, is to focus his efforts on promoting development on no more than five key sites across the capital. The sites have not been identified yet, and will be selected in consultation with the London Boroughs and the GLA, but Rogers said he wanted to choose locations where his Architecture and Urbanism Unit could ‘really make a difference, and show what can be achieved, from the metropolitan scale to the neighbourhood.’

The unit’s brief is to contributing design guidance to the draft London Plan; to catalyseg innovative and intensified development in up to five sites; to improve London’s public realm from parks and green spaces to street furniture and to champion good design in the GLA and other London bodies’ own property developments.
