BridgeStreet to Open Corporate Housing in Manhattan

NEW YORK CITY-BridgeStreet Corporate Housing Worldwide, a subsidiary of MeriStar Hotels and Resorts, is opening temporary corporate housing units in the Financial District and in Midtown that will include studio, one- and two-room bedroom apartments. The first units will be in a newly renovated doorman building at 85 John St., three blocks from the New York Stock Exchange, which will feature an on-premises garage. Leases typically range from a week to a month or more. The firm recently opened an office here to spearhead its expansion into the Manhattan market.

“The BridgeStreet concept is becoming increasingly popular as companies look for cost-effective lodging alternatives in a slow-growth economic climate,” says Paul W. Whetsell, chairman and CEO of MeriStar. “This brings our total number of cities to 24 in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom,” he adds.
