Slated to encompass 290,000 sf, the speculative Atrium development will include twin, five-story Class A office towers. The L-shaped, multi-tenant facilities are designed to accommodate leases from 25,000 sf to 58,000 sf. Plans call for floor plates, ranging in size from 25,000 sf to 29,000 sf, that will connect on the fourth and fifth floors to provide up to 58,000 contiguous sf of leasable space.

Plans also call for a retail portion, which will encompass approximately 10,000 sf. It will consist of a sandwich and sundry shop, two restaurants and recreation facilities including a workout gym, an outdoor par exercise course, a volleyball court and a putting green. The Atrium is estimated to generate approximately $10 million in retail sales, according to Richard C. Lundquist, president of El Segundo-based Continental Development Corporation, the project's developer.

Completion of the development is targeted for late 2001. Hathaway Dinwiddie has been chosen as the project's builder and Gensler Architecture, Design & Planning Worldwide has been named as the architect. The Continental Park complex includes office space, an extended-stay hotel, a dining sector, a 16-screen movie theater, a 100,000-sf fitness facility and convenience oriented retail services.
