Trump's $125-Mil National Golf Club Takes Shape

BRIARCLIFF MANOR, NY-After more than four years in the approval process, developer Donald Trump is now moving dirt at his Trump National Golf Club here. However, the developer tells GlobeSt.com that the $125-million development will be well worth the wait.

BRIARCLIFF MANOR, NY-At a preview grand opening event for his much anticipated Trump National Golf Club here, New York City developer Donald Trump admitted it was a long road to have this project approved. In fact, it took more than four years for Trump to negotiate the approval process. Now, he is moving dirt and has already completed eight holes at the site of the former Briar Hall Country Club.

The Trump National Golf Club, designed by noted golf course architect Jim Fazio, will be a 7,200-yard, par-72 championship course that Trump promises “will be the finest golf course in New York State.” The private club will also feature a full-service 42,000-sf clubhouse designed by Robert Lamb Hart that will contain a pro shop, card rooms and a fitness center. The club will also have an outdoor swimming pool, heated whirlpool spa and cabana and four Hart-Tru tennis courts.

Along with the development of the golf course, the Trump Organization has retained Valhalla-based residential developer Spectrum Skanska as the construction and development manager of a gated community on the golf club grounds called the Residences at Trump National Golf Club, which will include 16 golf villas ranging in size from 3,100 sf to 3,400 sf overlooking the eighth fairway. In addition, 71 condominium residences will be built in two mid-rise buildings. Each unit will range in size from 1,800 to 3,000 sf. The homes are priced from $900,000 to more than $2.4 million.
