Stage Stores Must Amend Reorganization Plan

HOUSTON-It's back to the drawing boards on some amendments and clarifications for the Chapter 11 reorganization plan of Houston-based Stage Stores. A bankruptcy judge has set more hearings for June 29 and Aug. 8.

HOUSTON-Houston-based Stage Stores Inc. has achieved another step in its bankruptcy reorganization. US bankruptcy judge Wesley W. Steen for the Southern District of Texas Houston Division has issued a May 30 decision on Stage Stores’ plan.

A source within Stage Stores tells GlobeSt.com that Steen has asked Stage to modify and amend its disclosure statement by June 6. The changes include a copy of the solicitation letter that Stage Stores plans to send in a creditors’ vote solicitation to approve its third amended reorganization plan; a liquidation analysis explaining unreserved claims; list of officers and directors of the reorganized company and their compensations plus any amendments that the company would like to make.
