The council has approved two alternative schemes each of 300,000 sf. One option comprises six buildings and the other five. Brixton's letting agents Insignia Richard Ellis and Knight Frank are currently marketing the space but in the absence of any letting deal, it is likely that Brixton will decide to make a speculative start on site development in the autumn.

The planning decision triggers a final payment to the site's former occupier, Marconi Electric Systems, which occupied a 300,00 sq ft factory complex on the site on a lease with 65 years left to run.

The name Aviator Park reflects the site's connection with Louis Bleriot, who became the first man to fly across the English Channel in 1909. Bleriot bought the property in 1914 and used it to build both aircraft and cars. Brixton has owned the site since 1965.
