The transaction represents an expansion and relocation from Calpine's current office at 620 Coolidge Dr. in Folsom. According to industry sources, the relocation is for a much larger and better equipped building. Calpine's Folsom office coordinates construction activity for the company's power plants across the United States.
Tom Maloney, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Cushman Realty Corporation's Walnut Creek office, represented Calpine in the deal.
Maloney tells GlobeSt.com the market for electric generation from natural gas-fired power plants is rapidly growing. "The expansion of Calpine's construction activity to meet this demand necessitated the expansion of their current Folsom operations," says Maloney. "This transaction accommodates Calpine's current needs and allows for significant expansion in future buildings to be developed on the site."
