The Austin-based company's Littlefield Entertainment subsidiary has opened halls in Charleston and Columbia, SC, where it has operated one since January. It also has leased the 18,000-sf Triple City Ballroom in McAllen, TX, which it is converting into to Triple City Bingo. And, the company opened the Good Times Bingo Hall in Montgomery, AL.

In the South Carolina operations, Littlefield is sublessor and promoter. Charities are affiliated with the bingo halls and receive some of the revenue from them.

Littlefield also says it intends to acquire Word of Mouth Catering of Austin for $800,000. Word of Mouth, an 18-year-old business, joins Tents & Events in Littlefield's Hospitality subsidiary. Littlefield also is nearing the purchase of Premiere Party Rentals. Littlefield will take over strategic planning, accounting, finance, marketing and human relations functions of the acquired companies.

The publicly traded company is in the midst of a turnaround effort designed to take advantage of the large, but fragmented market for bingo. Littlefield is the largest public owner of charitable bingo halls in the United States. It operates two other subsidiaries besides entertainment and hospitality. Amusements operates arcades in Alabama and Real Estate is renovating a South Carolina shopping mall and plans to acquire similar properties.
