GlobeSt.com UPDATE: Pritzker Finishes Demolition Job at Navy Base

ORLANDO-The Chicago investment family's Pritzker Realty Group has taken down 250 former dormitories and administrative quarters and removed 20 miles of roadways at the 1,100-acre former Orlando Naval Training Center where Baldwin Park, a planned $1 billion, mixed-use venture is scheduled to break ground in first quarter 2002.

ORLANDO-Pritzker Realty Group of Chicago hosted a reception today, celebrating the demolition completion of 250 former dormitories and administrative quarters at the 1,100 acre former Orlando Naval Training Center in east Orlando where Baldwin Park, a planned $1 billion, mixed-use venture is scheduled to break ground in first quarter 2002.

Penny Pritzker, CEO of Pritzker Realty Group, commended the city and its planning staff for keeping the project on schedule. Pritzker Realty Group is the managing partner of Orlando NTC Partners Inc., the project’s developer.

Baldwin Park, a 10-year project, is the most ambitious public-private commercial undertaking ever attempted in Orlando, according to seasoned brokers and developers following the venture’s progress.
