No size or cost figures have been announced yet for the shopping center, which is not projected to open until 2004. Roy Vice, development director/commercial development for The Rouse Co. will talk about why a new regional shopping center is needed in the Twin Cities, the site selection process, the challenges of developing a new regional center and the trends in demographics in the area.

In announcing the event, the association says it's been a quarter of a century since a majorregional shopping center has been built in the Twin Cities -- apparently putting the decade-old Mall of America in a different class.
