Rouse to Unveil Prototype Regional Mall

MAPLE GROVE, MN-The project would be the first new regional mall in Twin Cities in 25 years -- if you put the Mall of America in a loftier category. Details are forthcoming Wednesday at a Minnesota Shopping Center Association meeting.

MAPLE GROVE, MN-Rouse officials will talk about its plans for a new regional shopping mall in Maple Grove Wednesday at a meeting of the Minnesota Shopping Center Association. Nordstrom and Marshall Field’s have agreed to build stores at the mall, but the third anchor has yet to be announced, according to Rouse officials.

No size or cost figures have been announced yet for the shopping center, which is not projected to open until 2004. Roy Vice, development director/commercial development for The Rouse Co. will talk about why a new regional shopping center is needed in the Twin Cities, the site selection process, the challenges of developing a new regional center and the trends in demographics in the area.
