Cabot, Cabot & Forbes converted the building into a 450,000-sf Internet switch hotel called the Boston Internet City Project. Once Globix, an Internet based company, leased the building, Cabot moved ahead with the project. This past fall, as the high tech market collapsed Globix pulled out of the deal leaving Cabot with a shell of a building and no prospective tenants.

Sources from the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council tell GlobeSt.com that the building developers have been considering converting the building into biotech space to attract tenants from the biotech and pharmaceutical industries. The conversion requires major aesthetic changes but the developers are reportedly confident that the location will be a draw for potential tenants from that industry.
