CANTON TOWNSHIP, MI-This Wayne County community is seeing phenomenal new residential growth, with two large developments shaping up and more on the way. Jeff Goulet, the community planner for the township, says there probably 5,000 new homes planned right now in the township.

That number doesn’t include the 1,291 units already going up in the $330-million Cherry Hill Village subdivision, a large development that began last summer and has already sold more than half its stock.

The land, on about 300 acres, is being developed by Troy, MI-based Biltmore Properties Corp.
