Canton Exploding in Large New Subdivisions

CANTON TOWNSHIP, MI-Cherry Hill and Hamlet are sporting about 1,000 new homes each on nearly 1,000 acres. More developments, including multifamily projects and 750,000 sf of retail development, are planned.

CANTON TOWNSHIP, MI-This Wayne County community is seeing phenomenal new residential growth, with two large developments shaping up and more on the way. Jeff Goulet, the community planner for the township, says there probably 5,000 new homes planned right now in the township.

That number doesn’t include the 1,291 units already going up in the $330-million Cherry Hill Village subdivision, a large development that began last summer and has already sold more than half its stock.

The land, on about 300 acres, is being developed by Troy, MI-based Biltmore Properties Corp.
