Crawford Breaks Ground on Ajax Condominiums

DENVER-Mother and son development team Dana and Jack Crawford break ground on their $19-million Ajax condominium project just west of Coors Field. It is one of an estimated $900 million in projects being built on the 40-acre site.

DENVER-Dana and Jack Crawford, the best-known mother and son development team in the market, broke ground on their $19-million Ajax condominium project, the first phase of a $175-million to $200-million mixed-use development just west of Coors Field. Twenty-three of the first 49 units in the Ajax condo project already have been sold, says Jack Crawford, at the development in the Prospect neighborhood off 20th Street and 29th Avenue that originally was known as the Bottoms.

The Crawfords are calling their five-acre site Prospect Place. It is adjacent to a historic renovation of the Benedict Warehouse condominium project being developed by Gart Properties. Lincoln Properties and Phoenix Properties also plan luxury rental projects in the fledgling neighborhood.

All told, an estimated $900 million in projects will be built in the 40-acre area.
